Airbus
By exploring the far boundaries of our Universe, we realise, looking back at Earth, just how fragile our world and its resources are. As we navigate through environmental and other global challenges, space has enormous untapped potential to help tackle future crises. Keeping that in mind, the space industry needs to develop and evolve in a more responsible way, so as to avoid putting our planet under more pressure and to keep exploring space in a maintainable way
Ariane Group
Our sustainability policy is fully aligned with the intent of the statement and based on 3 pillars: space for people, space for environment and space for progress. Our purpose is to pioneer the European access to Space for the wellbeing of all citizens in' a safe world
AstroAgency
The importance of the commercial space sector developing in an environmentally conscious manner is of utmost important to the AstroAgency team and so many of the 50+ companies we support every day. We believe the upstream supply chain can make a contribution to new zero goals by reducing its environmental impact, while downstream data can protect earth’s environments.
Aurora
Sustainability is visible in every aspect of Aurora: the first of our company values is "Sustainability in orbit and on Earth" which provides guidance for our actions. Our product portfolio consists of in-space propulsion systems relying on two core technologies: resistojet thrusters and electrostatic tethers. Both of these technologies have a large number of use cases, but we've chosen to focus on collision avoidance (with the ARM-C thruster system) and deorbiting (with the Plasma Brake deorbiting device), as these are the most urgent threats to sustainable LEO operations.
CNES
As a space agency, CNES is committed to imagining and offering a sustainable space. It works with the ecosystem (agencies, industry, scientists) to propose and implement a trajectory for the development and operation of space missions that respects the terrestrial and extra-atmospheric environment.
ENPUSION
ENPULSION is by nature supporting Space Sustainability measures by providing in-orbit mobility and the whole team is driven by this higher purpose. In joining the conversation with the Statement and its supporting company, we hope to further strengthen this commitment by sharing our expertise in on-orbit operations, standardisation, and learning from other companies.
Eutelsat
Eutelsat signed the statement as we are absolutely committed to the responsible use of Space and to take a leading role within the industry to develop and drive sustainability practices within the industry. Cooperation between actors is fundamental t and we see the ESA initiative as a key forum to achieve this.
GlobeEye
GlobeEye’s mission is focused on leveraging space resources, and space data in particular, to contribute to protect the natural environment on earth and facilitate the climate transition. With a mission centred around the development of satellite-powered, reliable measurements for crucial elements such as carbon absorption and carbon emissions, air quality, water pollution, and biodiversity, GlobeEye stands at the forefront of innovation in environmental monitoring and mitigation, as well as in the utilization of space data, artificial intelligence, and cloud technologies.
ICEYE
ICEYE aims to improve life on Earth by becoming the global source of truth. The Statement underlines our dedication to using earth observation data to benefit people and the planet and ensure the long-term sustainability of space initiatives.
Latitudo 40
At Latitudo 40, our mission is to harness the transformative power of satellite imagery and artificial intelligence to pioneer sustainable solutions for urban planning, environmental monitoring, and climate resilience. We are committed to providing actionable insights that empower governments, businesses, and communities to make informed decisions for a sustainable future. By continuously innovating and leveraging cutting-edge technology, we aim to enhance the quality of life for millions, protect our planet's natural resources, and contribute to the global effort towards sustainability and resilience against climate change.
Leonardo
Leonardo Corporate is interested in Ecodesign and LCA applied to Aerospace and Defence in a broad sense, form an organisational and management perspective, not directly from a technological perspective.
Maiaspace
Consistent with the ESA Statement, ecology and the fight against environmental destruction are an integral part of the culture and core values of MaiaSpace, whose ambitions include pioneering the evaluation and mitigation of a launcher's environmental impacts via two major objectives:
-
To develop a launcher with the lowest impact on the Earth's environment within its category
-
To have the most beneficial impact on the orbital environment by enabling in-orbit services
We concretely translate this ambition into action by using Life Cycle Assessment and Ecodesign in our development process.
Norwegian Space Agency
NOSA want to be part of a responsible space sector who has a focus on implementing actions and mitigations.
Planet
Planet’s mission is to use space to help life on Earth, by imaging the world every day and making global change visible, accessible, and actionable.
Our mission, business model and corporate behaviour are aligned with our public benefit purpose, which is: “to accelerate humanity toward a more sustainable, secure, and prosperous world by illuminating environmental and social change.” This means sustainability is integrated into everything we do.
Space Wales
Space Wales is responsible for the delivery of the Wales Space Strategy, Wales A Sustainable Space Nation, created in collaboration with the Welsh Government to outline our mission to become a Sustainable Space Nation by 2040.
We are currently developing a roadmap to support with this mission. This focuses on enhancing the sustainability of the space sector in Wales, considering both environmental and business perspectives to foster sustainable growth.
SSC
The areas covering the statement are imperative for us as a company to not just manage but thrive within. Areas that we cannot solve on our own. Therefore we found the collaborative platform the statement entailed as very relevant for us.
Sustainable Space Economy
The mission of our company is very much aligned with the values and principles of the Statement. We are committed to help the global space ecosystem to become more sustainable by promoting leadership, awareness creation and collaboration. We know how to benefit from space. We help companies to describe, design, challenge, invent and pivot their business model to grow their business and to execute holistically towards sustainable space economy (i.e. UN Sustainable Development Goals in the first phase) by offering them business development services.
Telespazio
Responsible behaviour in the use of space must be encouraged, supported and promoted by main space actors which are actively involved in space activities or benefit from a peaceful, safe and sustainable space environment, now and in the future. This Statement is an opportunity in which experiences and points of view can be shared and to define common positions which can support the promotion of changes towards the adoption of a responsible use of space. From this perspective, Telespazio is interested in participating in communities working on activities in line with its abilities and skills.
Thales Alenia Space
Sustainability Transformation is one of the main axis of Thales Alenia Space strategy.
